-INTRODUCTION |

| The Shree Devi Education Trust, Established
in the year 1992 started the Shree Devi College of Hotel Management,
with a view to train young men and women to take up responsible administrative
positions in the Hotel Industry. The college is located in ideal surrounding
half a km form the bus stand, 2 kms, from the railway station and
16 kms, from the Airport. |

| Hotel Management and Tourism is fast -
growing these days. Within the next decade, the number of foreign
tourists is going to increase rapidly. Increased tourism needs Hotels
and Motels which need to be maintained at international levels. Now
the Hoteliers have come to realise the fact that it pays to employ
professionally trained people rather than employ amateures and then
try to train them. The trained staff has to be found from catering
institutes and colleges. Hence, there is a great demand for professionally
trained people, specially with a degree from a reputed University. |

AFFILIATION WITH MANGALORE UNIVERSITY
Shree Devi College of Hotel Management offers a Three year Bachelors
Degree Programme in Hospitality Science ( B.H.S.), which is affiliated
to Mangalore University. The Bachelors Degree is awarded to successful
candidates as per the University rules & regulations.
Mangalore University was the first in India to offer the Bachelors Degree
status to a course in Hotel Management, which has now become exceedingly
popular.
